Committee Chairs – 2006 budgets need to be in Denny’s hand by 8/15. There will
be a proposed budget for consideration at the 9/9 planning meeting. If you have
a revenue generating committee, please estimate both expenses and revenues.
Social Chair –
Business Card exchange
8/18 at Brick Ridge 4-7pm. In need of door prizes – if you are interested, see
Paula.
A new social chair will
be needed for next year. If you are interested in the position, please see Tim
or Paula.
Membership – One new
member – Laura and Michael Leidbecker of Matlin Signs and Graphics.
Carroll County Chamber –
The newsletter with
calendar was passed around the meeting. There is a golf tournament coming up and
Leadership Carroll as well. There are some business card exchanges coming up, so
see the calendar for info.
Ambassador’s Committee –
New Member Orientation –
at September meeting. Ellie is asking for literature to make up 50 new member
packets (limited to 1 piece of paper per business). Please get your items to her
by 8/25 – you can drop off to Blossom & Basket Boutique.
Professional Development
– Marlene is working on forming a committee to put together the seminar series.
Advertising & Marketing
Keir Knight – Please
fill out your profile on the website if you haven’t already. The website has
been updated, so if you haven’t seen it lately, check it out. Committee Chairs –
please give your meeting dates to Keir so that he can have a calendar posted on
the website.
Advertising – the next
business card exchange will be advertised. Last month, ads were run in The
Frederick News Post Hello Frederick, as well as the Volunteer Fire Company
Carnival Booklet. If your organization is looking for advertising support,
please let Keir know.
Phone Book – It’s out!
If you don’t have one yet, either you don’t live in 21771, or it’s on its way to
being delivered. Keir would like to find a way to get the phone books
distributed to any new homeowners as they move into 21771 – Realtors, if you
have any ideas, please see Keir. Thank you again to everyone who volunteered to
help!!!
Finances – after all
expenses have been paid, and a reasonable reserve has been set aside, there is
approximately $5000 to distribute to the Chamber and to Kiwanis.
Planning meeting –
9/9/05 If you have something that you would like on the agenda, please let Tim
know. If you plan to come to the planning meeting, please RSVP to Paula by 8/15.
Gala – Scheduled for
1/14/06 at the American Legion. Paula is sending around a sign-up sheet to gauge
projected attendance. The committee has planned to set the ticket prices at $35.
There will be a cash bar. With the Gala, the fixed costs will be around $2000.
In the interest of keeping ticket prices down, Paula moves that the Chamber
underwrite/advance up to $2000 to cover the cost of the Gala. This is not a fund
raiser, or meant to be a profitable venture, so any profit from ticket sales
will go back to the Chamber. Seconded by Tom Neff. Motion passes. More
information regarding details and sponsorships will follow in upcoming meetings.
RSVP date is Dec 1. Question – if there is a huge snow storm, what happens? The
Legion’s policy is that as long as they’re open, the function will continue.
Carol Cahall moved that the Chamber spend $100 for the deposit on the American
Legion. Howard LeRoux seconded. Motion passed.
