Minutes for July 5, 2007: Moved to accept – Bob Cage, Second Howard LeRoux

Treasurer’s Report: Dennis Ahalt. Opening balance = $41,478.43 Receipts = 0; Expenditures = $2,508.25 = Balance July 30, 2007 = $38,970.18. Checking member banks for a place the purchase a $6500 CD. Gave $400 to Boy Scout Troop #460 as a memorial.

Executive Committee Report: Kerry Turner. Kerry has published a RFP for our Web Site. Kerry pointed out that Committee Chairs are needed. The Annual Planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 11 AM – 3 PM at Lorien Assisted Living.

Membership Report: Dennis Emerson. Membership is currently 362. Two new businesses joined in July: LINGANORE WINECELLARS, TOWN CENTER REALTY GROUP, LLC.

Professional Development: Marlene Titus. A marketing seminar will be held at the Mt. Airy Library on Oct. 1st 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Business Planning Workshops are planned for September 18th & 19th.

Nominating Committee: Robert Cage. At the September membership meeting, nominations will be accepted from the floor. The Election of Officers will be held at the October membership meeting.

2008 Community Expo: Jeanne LeRoux. Expo date – April 19, 2008 – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. We have the contract for the Carnival grounds. The next planning meeting will be held the beginning of September. There are lots of plans for activities to encourage families and all types of visitors to attend. YOUR FUN FAMILY EVENT YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS.

Social Committee: Leslie Brenneman. We thank Ellie Bonde, Blossom & Basket Boutique for stepping in at the last minute to host the last business card exchange. On August 30, Damascus Community Bank is hosting a Business Card Exchange-4:30-6:30 pm. Sep 5th, the Carroll County Chamber Joint Networking Breakfast (7:30 AM – 9:30 AM) at the Mt. Airy Library. (RSVP to Carroll County Chamber is required)

Sep 13th –Business Card exchange 5 pm – 7 pm at Mt. Airy Animal Hospital.

Oct, 4th – Joint Card Exchange with Frederick Chamber 4:30pm – 6:30 pm at Linganore Winery.

Oct. 11 – Business Card Exchange at New Windsor Bank -5-7pm.

Advertising Committee: Keir Knight. The Web Site is averaging 1000 hits per month. The Golf page is up and running. It will be used to advertise golf events. Advertising is within budget to this point in the year.

Carroll County Chamber: Tim Barkley. Tim is reminding everyone of the joint meeting on Sep 5th. A breakfast meeting 7:30 am – 9:30 am.

Ambassador Committee: Planning an orientation meeting on Sept. 6th.

Mayor Johnson: Town is working on the September issue of the newsletter. The Mayor is requesting that all residents be aware of the water shortage and do all possible to conserve water. The Mayor is attempting to make water conservation a working policy. Looking for committee members.
