Archie Rogers moved the minutes from the June 2007 membership meeting be approved. Bill Butts, Seconded.

Finance Committee: Carol Cahall. Ellie Bonde moved to put $6500 in CD. Laurie Dilks Seconded.

Executive Committee: Carol Cahall. Marlene Titus reported more people are interested in Quick Books training. For the last Quick Books class only 8 out of 15 that signed up attended the class. The question is " how do we solve the no show" problem?

Dennis Emerson – The membership is now 360. 8 New members joined in June…Creative Mortgage Solutions; Chevy Chase Bank; Skyview Inc; Jimmy’s Lawn and Landscape Maintenance; WOW Floors, Inc; Fastframe; Mt. Airy Lions Club; Concetta’s Italian Grocer.

There will be a new member orientation after the September meeting.

Business Expo Committee: Jeannie LeRoux. Many items were discussed at the

Committee meeting:.

- New time for the Expo will be 9:00-4:00.

- The contract for the Carnival Grounds has been received and signed by the president.

- Vendors will be allowed to sell their products at the Expo.

- Vendors will be asked to distribute fliers from their businesses.

- Will attempt to have someone hand out fliers to MAYAA families as they leave the ball field.

- Ginny MacColl will see if Nassau Broadcasting can put up a banner ad and hyperlink on their sites to the Chamber Expo page. Also, checking to determine the cost of live broadcast from the Expo.

- Plan to start signing up businesses/vendors at the membership drive.

- Many other items discussed.

Advertising and Marketing: Keir. Good coverage of the scholarship awards. Members should note they can put information in the newsletter.

Social Committee: Leslie Brenneman. Picnic will be held on July 15th at the Am Vets park off Rt 40.

July 26. Business Card Exchange at Retro Metro

Carroll County Chamber. Tim Barkley. There is a September Golf outing planned. Bull roast is July 21. PM Connection is July 24. The morning breakfast meeting will be at the Library in Mt. Airy on Wednesday, September 5th.

Old Business. Carol Cahall checking on getting the Chamber signs at the town entrance remade.

New Business. Kerry Turner will handle proposals for the Web Site bids.

Members are requested to submit items for the annual planning meeting.

The Mt. Airy EDC is working on a brochure to be available at City Hall and the Library.

Mt. Airy Mayor Frank Johnson. Thanks to the town news letter supporters. A Business card size ad cost $40 per month.

Water is a continuing problem.

There are a number of commission vacancies. Applicants welcome.
