We are still taking applications for a limited number of slots to display a banner ad throughout our website. As you move through the site you will see the available ads along the right side of the page. By clicking on one, you will be directed to an application. It’s that easy! It will also be that easy for visitors to our site to click on your company information and go directly to your company’s website. This opportunity is only available to members and is on a first-come basis.

Mt. Airy Trivia

Congratulations to Paul (P.W.) Shaffer of Sandy Spring Bank who was the winner of the first Trivia Question which was sent out to the Mt. Airy Business News list. The correct answer was that Damascus
Community Bank is sponsoring the Business Card Exchange on December 10, 2008. Paul will receive a $25 gift certificate to Ridgeville Service Center.

For those of you who did not receive the email with the trivia question, you can send an email to

COMMUNITY CALENDAR

Look for the new Community Calendar on the Chamber website. This calendar will be used for community events in the Mt. Airy area that are not sponsored by the GMACC. This includes charity events, golf tournaments, town events, etc. There is no fee to post events. Contact Brian Jacobs at bjacobs@rednoodle.com for information.

CHARITY MINI-GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce held their 3rd Annual Charity Miniature Golf Tournament at Adventure Park USA on May 22nd. The weather cooperated and the event was a great way to meet other business owners, enjoy the weather and network. Proceeds totaling $1,700 were donated to the Mt. Airy Library’s Summer Reading Club which serves pre-school and school-aged children. The Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce extends our thanks to Larry Stottlemyer of Adventure Park USA for donating the use of his facility and especially to Colleen and Daniel Strube who did an excellent job organizing this event.
