AUGUST 2003 NEWSLETTER
AUGUST PICNIC
There will be no August meeting. Instead, we will be having a family picnic at
Watkins Park on Sunday, August 3rd from 1 – 4pm. You are invited to
bring your families.
Also, please bring food for your family and a dish to share - plus all utensils,
paper plates, etc that you may need. If you have any questions, please contact

SEPTEMBER MEETING
Our September meeting will be at 8am on Thursday September 4th at the
Mt Airy Fire Hall on Watersville Road and Main Street. Please enter the building
from the back parking lot.
Our guest speaker will be Mr. John Medve, President of the Mt. Airy Town
Council.

BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE
Our next Business Card Exchange will be held on Monday September 22nd,
4-7 pm at the Tim Barkley Law Offices – 208 Ridgeville Plaza, Suite 201
(above the Subway sandwich shop).
The Business Card Exchange is co-sponsored by Drs. Andrea and Andrew Williamson
of Chiropractic First. The door prize will be donated by New Windsor
State Bank.
CHAMBER PINS
If you have purchased a Chamber pin, you can add your company name to your pin
for a charge of $3. Anyone who would like to do so, please contact Debbie Harker
of Barger-Harker Insurance at 301-831-0223.
Chamber pins are also available to our new members and to anyone who hasn’t yet
purchased one. The price is $7 for each pin.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Carroll County Chamber is having a Golf Tournament on
September 12th. Hole sponsorships are available for any business that

BUSINESS FAIR
Plans for a Business Fair are underway. Carol Cahall is the Chairman and anyone
who is interested in helping with this event, please contact her at The Main
Event 301-829-4444.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY & APPLICATION
The Chamber has a new brochure containing a list of all current members
(business names and phone numbers) plus an application form for potential
members.
We plan on updating the brochure every few months and will
have them available at all meetings and events.
If you would like to suggest that a brochure be sent to a
local business that is not yet a member, please contact Audrey Stapf of Stapf
Crafters Woodworking at 301-831-7339.
If you would like some extra copies to hand out to
customers and clients, please contact Keir Knight of Plain English Writing &
