Business Fair A Great Success - Thank You!

We had 33 local businesses exhibiting and over 250 people in attendance. Net income from the event is in the region of $1,200 – with $160 coming from the public entrance fee. Door prizes donated by 40 members and four non-members totaled more than $1,800 in value – including the 27" Flat-Screen TV that was won by Downtown Business Assoc member Richard Schultz.

Visitors to the Fair included State Senator David Brinkley, Carroll County Chamber President Bonnie Grady, the Mt Airy Mayor and Town Council, plus representatives from Gov. Ehrlich’s office and Congressman Bartlett’s office.

Our sincerest thanks to our sponsors and all those businesses and groups that helped make the Fair such a success – and to the following individuals for their hard work: Robert Brill, Financial Advisor, Legg Mason; Carol Cahall, The Main Event; Donnis Klein, Weekenders USA; Keir Knight, Plain English Writing & Design; Ross Levin, New York Life Insurance; Ken Matthews, Freedom Carpet Cleaning; Ray Miller, New Horizon Van Lines; Joyce Picard-Busse, The Entrepreneur’s Source; Archie & Carolyn Rogers, Rogers Engraving; Audrey Stapf, StapfCrafters Woodworking.

The event was hosted by the Law Office of Michael Zimmer and Todd Bricken of Brick Ridge Restaurant and was a joint project with the South Carroll Business Association. (The SCBA is now a
Chamber member and we have joined their group in return).
Representatives from the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, the Carroll
County Tourism Office and Carroll County Community College also came.
