BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE REPORT
The Greater Mt. Airy Business Card Exchange was held at Pane e Vino Restaurant on October 11, 2004. Thirty-seven businesses were
represented at this exchange. The food was wonderful and several new and
prospective members attended.
The door prize from Dave Pribulick of Sealcraft -
3,000 sq ft of sealcoating - was won by Paul Clay of Long & Foster Realtors.
The door prize from Kevin Pearson of Data Safe Technologies - a PC
Recovery device - was won by Bob Brill from Morgan Stanley.
We wish to thank everyone at Pane e Vino for a wonderful
evening.

NOVEMBER 4TH MEETING
Our meeting for November is scheduled for November 4th,
8am at the Mt. Airy Fire Hall on Watersville Road and Main Street. You enter by
the back parking lot.
On the agenda for the November meeting: An update on our
Greater Mt. Airy Business Directory Phone Book project; the ongoing electricity
deregulation situation; the Business Fair to be held next April; helping the
Main St Christmas project; and the 2005 Planning Meeting (see below).
Our next Executive Committee meeting will be on November 29th at 1pm at Barkley Law Office. As always, all members of the Chamber are invited
to attend.

GOVT. RELATIONS LUNCHEON
On October 21 Maryland Sec. of Transportation Robert Flanagan
spoke to the Chamber at the Mt. Airy Fire Company Activities Building.
It was a very interesting lunch meeting and we would like to
thank Mike Zimmer, Government Relations Committee chair for all his hard work in
organizing the event.
We would also like to thank Pat Griffith and Cheryl Knight of New Windsor State Bank for handling payments at the door.
2005 PLANNING MEETING
This meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday January
26th at 1pm, at the Lorien facility. Paula Wilhelm has kindly offered
to host this event, as she did last year, and will provide another lovely lunch
for all who attend!
All members are invited to attend – especially officers and
committee chairs.

MAIN ST CHRISTMAS
The Downtown Business Association is organizing "A Main
Street Christmas" to be held on Saturday, December 4 from 3-8pm.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for 5pm, and the
Parade will begin at 5:30 at the Calvary UM Church, following Main St. to the
old F&M Bank Building.
This festival will be different from the other festivals in
town, with the intent to be a gift to the Community.
