MAMSA SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
The Mount Airy Main Street Association (MAMSA) is a group of dedicated
volunteers interested in revitalizing Mount Airy’s traditional downtown business
neighborhood.
MAMSA’s goal is to establish downtown as a gathering place and center of
community life to promote commerce for locally owned and operated
businesses, culture, and town events for residents and visitors.
They are looking to recruit members/volunteers to their various revitalization
committees (organization, design, promotions and economic restructuring... they especially need volunteers for economic
restructuring).
MAMSA SEEKS BASKET DONATIONS
A basket raffle is their first fundraising effort to benefit downtown. MAMSA
needs your help to fill the basket with an item or gift certificate from your
Mount Airy business. All donations are tax-deductible as MAMSA is an established
fund with the Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc.
Tickets for the raffle will be $1 each or 6 for $5 with the drawing taking place
on December 4th, 2004 during "A Main Street Christmas" in downtown
Mount Airy. Tickets will be available from MAMSA members, at the MAMSA booth
during the Mount Airy Fall Festival (October 2-3, 2004) and at local businesses.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The Mt. Airy Chamber is on the move! We have nearly quadrupled the
membership in two years, held the first business fair in years, provided access
to the electric cooperative for our members, provided numerous successful
networking events, and emerged as a force for the promotion of the Town's
business interests.
The future beckons, promising growth through the business directory, increased
participation in the Main Street revitalization, recognition on the State and
local levels, and vibrant relationships to build our businesses.
We have all benefited from our membership in the Chamber, and next year promises
even greater gains for us individually and for the Chamber.
We grow as each member invests in their own business and in the Chamber. I look
forward to an expanding role for the Chamber and for each of us as the Town and
region begin to realize the potential of location and demographics unique to Mt.
Airy.
Thank you for your participation and unique contribution.
