APRIL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGOur monthly meeting will be held on Thursday April 7th at 8am
– at the Mt Airy Fire Hall (corner of Watersville Rd and Main St, enter through
the back doors).As always, there will be a very full agenda and we hope to
have many members in attendance. We had a fantastic turn-out for the March
meeting, which was followed by a new member orientationBUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE APRIL 28TH Our next Business Card Exchange is to be hosted by the Crivella Team – Long & Foster Realtors. The event will be held on Thursday
April 28th from 4-7pm at the home of Lisa Wolsh – 6635 Christy Acres
Circle.A Mapquest link is available on the Chamber website but full
directions will be distributed to all members nearer the time.The event is co-sponsored by Premier Ponds, Kemptown Too,
Mt Airy Dent Repair and Freedom Carpet Cleaning.It promises to be a great event and we hope to see everyone
there! (Lisa says there is plenty of parking and room for all our new members!)AMBASSADOR’S PACKETS Ellie Bonde of Blossom & Basket Boutique, chair of the
Ambassador’s Committee, has 100 more packets of marketing materials ready for
new members. Ellie and her committee will be distributing those this month.To have materials from your business put in future packets,

her new store, The Secret Stork, on Main Street!MT AIRY PHONE BOOKWe had a tremendous response from advertisers, especially in
the final week before the deadline, and the book is currently being prepared for
publication. Updates on the progress of the project will be posted to the
website.PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
COMMITTEEMarlene Titus of Carroll Community College, chair of
our Professional Development Committee, is preparing a proposal to run a series
of seminars and workshops benefiting Chamber members. This will be discussed
further at the April membership meeting.BUSINESS FAIR VOLUNTEERSWe are looking for volunteers to help with setting up and
running the Business Fair. It’s a great way to get involved and meet other
Chamber members. If you would like to be involved, please contact Archie Rogers

mtairybusiness – but anyone wishing to receive just special announcements can

that messages follow the Chamber’s mission "to promote and support local
businesses" – general announcements, events and advertising opportunities are
all legitimate uses. Direct advertising of an individual business is not.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION – MAY 5th
Ambassador’s committee chair Ellie Bonde is planning another
orientation session after the May 5th membership meeting.Chamber officers and committee chairs will be present, and
all new Chamber members who have joined in recent months are invited.
Refreshments will be served! We look forward to the opportunity to meet you, to
describe Chamber activities and benefits, and answer any questions you might
have. GET INVOLVED – JOIN A COMMITTEE!If you would like to become more involved in Chamber

chairs.CHAMBER ADVERTISING PAGEThirteen Chamber members were featured in a special
advertising section in the March 22nd Frederick News-Post "Progress Edition". The top of the page featured a Mt Airy Chamber of Commerce
banner, along with a large ad for the Chamber.
This very successful venture was put together by the
News-Post’s Kerry Turner, who is the Chamber recording secretary.
CHAMBER SURVEYAt the March membership meeting a questionnaire was
distributed for members to fill out with questions about benefits of Chamber
membership, what the Chamber should do to help you, and other questions. This
survey is now posted on the website and submissions are still welcomed.
LIONS CLUB MIXER APRIL 12th
"In appreciation of community support that has enabled us to
contribute over $750,000 back to our local area, the Mt. Airy Lions Club
