MEMBER APPRECIATION PICNIC
It was a great day for a picnic! At the Member
Appreciation Picnic we
enjoyed wonderful food from CarterQue BBQ, wine and beer from Mt. Airy
Liquors and lots of good company. I would like to thank a few Chamber
members for all their time and hard work putting together the picnic. Dave
Pribulick from Sealcraft, Tom Watkins owner of Watkins Limousines, Jeanne
and Howard LeRoux owners of Mt. Airy Dent Repair & Touch Up, Dianne Ryan
President of The Jeremy Foundation and last but not least Ken Matthews
owner of Freedom Carpet Cleaning.
All of these people were a vital part in putting
together our first ever Member
Appreciation Picnic. Next time you run into one of these Chamber members
please
make sure you thank them for the wonderful job they did! Also, I would
like to send out a special thank you to everyone who helped clean up. We
had everything
clean and ready to go by 4:05pm. That has to be some kind of record.
It was a honor to meet everyone's family!
[Leslie Brenneman, Social Committee Chair]
LIBRARY RESOURCE CENTER
Laurie Dilks of Juice Plus, and Keir Knight of
Plain English Writing & Design have been working with the Mount Airy
branch of the Carroll County Public Library setting up a new Business
Resource Center.
The area features Chamber information, Phone
Books, fliers and folders from other local business groups and
organizations. It also features all the business magazines and periodicals
held by the library, and a constantly updated selection of
business-related books.
There are also plans to build a workstation area
for laptop use.
The center is designed for use by those already
in business, and as an aid for those looking to set up a new business.
The Mount Airy Library serves people from all
four counties.
